Connection to Oracle Beehive Failing

Postby sonias » Sun Oct 30, 2011 10:27 am

Hi all,

I am using the following settings for Jabber in IM+ on my Nokia X6 phone, which has Symbian S60v9 OS:

Login: myOrcaleId@oracle.com
Password: myOraclePassword
Resource: IM+ nokia
Priority: 5
Host: stbeehive.oracle.com
Port: 5223
Use SSL: Enabled
Reconnection attempts: 3
Autoconnect: Enabled

And, when I click on 'Connect to Jabber', the following error message pops up:

"Connection to Jabber server failed. Please check your connection."

Please let me know if any setting is incorrect.
Or do I have to create a Jabber account...
Or is there any other issue...

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Sonia

Any update to this issue. I am having issues connecting to Oracle, also, using my Symbian client.

We recommend you to contact your Oracle server administrator in order to check which exactly host should be used to connect.
Corporate Jabber servers usually use non-standard ports.

Standard 5223 port is in use. This used to work just fine, but one day several months ago it stopped working. I'm just trying to decide if IM+ can handle it before buying an Android version for my tablet.

I can confirm that something's gone wrong, recently, with IM+ connecting to the Oracle corporate jabber server.

The connection details at the start of this thread worked last week, and *still* work in Adium on my desktop.

Starting a few days ago, they stopped working on IM+ on my iPhone.

So, either Oracle changed something on their end that shapeservice's server can't handle (most likely), or something changed on Shape Service's server which broke stuff.

Either way, it's something to get fixed on the IM+ end, not Oracle, and not the user.

Update: And now it's working again. Just odd.
